What would OPPO do? I really hate taking my cars to the dealer for anything, but I sure as hell ain’t paying $200 a year for a service I don’t even use. Where’s option 4 “do not go to dealer, do not collect $200"? If I go to collect the $200, and have it disconnected, they will try to sell me an alignment, cabin air filters, new battery, etc.

“BMW Lifestyle.” Wouldn’t want to miss out on that, would you?

$200 is $200. I’ll say no a few times for $200.

What if I say no, then he goes back and tells the tech to MAKE it out of alignment?

Get the lifestyle voucher and buy a BMW Motorsport jacket and a couple polos. That’s what you’ll get for $300.
Or you could put your $300 towards the $4000 you need (not including installation) for a M performance M3 exhaust system.
Or just take the $200.

Is your dealership really that shady? If so, take the $200, go get an alignment elsewhere for $100. Still up $100. Or just go to a not shady dealership, or watch the car the whole time if there are windows to the service bay. There’s no reason to be anywhere under the vehicle to disable a software feature.

If you think your dealer is shady, why not take it to another? Besides if they really do that, I think a letter to BMW is in order. Manufacturers do investigate these things.

I’ve used United in Roswell for the free maintenance (before it expired), and I took my ex-wifes X5 I took to Nalley when it still had free maintenance. At both places while in the waiting room I watched the service advisors try to upsell alignments, batteries, or cabin filters to every single person. I would try Global BMW if I decide to take one of these options.

I work right up the hill from Global Imports, and the only reason I used to take my Z4 there was because I could reasonably walk there from my office.
They still send me mails claiming that I need brakes or tires or something.
This doesn’t even get to the point where the sales weasel was arguing with me as to whether or not the E60 or the F10 was a more engaging car to drive.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. I received emails saying my car notified them it needed spark plugs when it only had 16k miles. Absolute bullshit. I was so disgusted, on my last free brake fluid flush I decided just to do it myself.

I need to figure out where I’m gonna take mine since the warranty has been expired for a while. I took it to BMW of San Antonio when I lived there because it was easy.

I mean, it’s not hard to change them, but the Atlanta dealers aren’t really helping the whole “German cars are expensive to run and service” thing.
